Can nail polish remover remove the color of laptops?

It might, especially if it's acetone based polish remover. If the polish is dry, try to scratch it off gently with your fingernail. It's not meant to stick to that type of surface so it might come off easily. If you're going to try polish remover you're better off to try a non-acetone polish remover and use a small amount on a cotton swab or ball and only apply it directly to the polish and not the laptop. You could also try a small amount of the polish remover in a small inconspicuous place somewhere on the laptop.
