Do I need to play Uncharted 1 to fully enjoy Uncharted 2?

No, I beat 2, it was one of my favorite games of all time, only game I ever got a platinum trophy for, and never played 1, yet I completely understood everything. And it's OK, I'm cheap as hell too, so I didn't by 1, and honestly you don't need too either.
