If you got your hands on a Ray Sphere, would you use it, if you knew it would work?

The Ray Sphere works by sucking out the energy from every living thing in a huge radius around the user, and putting it inside the user. In this way one can obtain Electrical powers. Hundreds of lives snuffed out and the user gains immense power.
