Sore neck to Touch and stretching?

I noticed two days ago my neck is very sore to the touch especially up and down the whole throat area. There is also a dull pain when say I look up and stretch the muscles. I just touched up and down the throat and it is sore throughout. Do you think I slept on it wrong or could it be something worse. I have been a snuff chewer for about a year now?
